Allianz plays an active role in supporting the sport of golf, at all levels and many of the markets in which it operates.
In 2009 Allianz entered into a unique global partnership with St Andrews Links Trust, also known as the “Home of Golf”. Golf has been played at the Links on the east coast of Scotland for 600 years, and the courses have been the setting for some of the sport’s most memorable moments.
Alongside the partnership with St Andrews Links and 2014 European Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley, Allianz is also a partner of St. Leon-Rot Golf Club in Germany, creator and organizer of the very popular junior golfing initiative, Lucky 33, and the Allianz Championship, an annual event on the PGA Champions Tour in Florida.
Further more, Allianz is equally passionate about the role women play in the game of golf. Allianz demonstrates this commitment through its partnerships with the Women’s British Open 2013, held at St Andrews Links, the Solheim Cup 2015, the most prestigious women’s golf event in the world, and the 2013 Solheim Cup winner Beatriz Recari.
Together with its partners, Allianz strives to connect communities across youth, business and family, while promoting the game of golf to new audiences.
Dr. Christian Deuringer, Head of Global Brand Management, Allianz SE explains, “Allianz has been a strong supporter of golf for many years. We are now taking our engagement to new places, in new directions and pioneering innovative ways to build on the way we communicate with golfers and continue promoting women’s golf to communities around the world.”
Allianz’ golf community comes together in a number of ways, including on digital channels, where relevant information from Allianz, including its partners and ambassadors, is shared to continue making the game accessible and sharing knowledge across various topics.
